  • What is the maximum validity period of an SSL certificate?

    As per the governing body of the SSL industry, the Certificate Authority/Browser (CA/B) Forum, the SL / TLS certificates can no longer be issued for a period exceeding 13 months (397 days). The maximum validity period for the SSL certificate is therefore 1 year. It is therefore not possible to purchase a certificate with a 2-year validity period. Customers will however have the ability to purchase the SSL certificate on a 2-year pricing plan but will be required to renew the certificate at the end of each year.

  • This depends on the type of certificate that you purchased and your response time. For Domain Validated (DV) certificates, these can typically be issued in a matter of minutes to one business day. For Organization Validated (OV) certificates, these tend to take around 5-7 business days to be issued provided all required documentations have been submitted and are in order. And for Extended Validation (EV) certificates, these usually take between 7-10 business days to be issued provided all required documentations have been submitted and are in order.
